SAI to conduct coaching course at KIIT University

Sports Authority of India (SAI), through its academic wing Netaji Subhash National Institute of Sports (NSNIS), Patiala, is going to conduct a six-week-long Certificate Course in Sports Coaching for former sportspersons working in schools, colleges, universities, industrial houses and other agencies for both men and women at KIIT University in Bhubaneswar from May 16 to June 24, 2017.

According to KIIT University Sports Director Dr Gaganendu Dash, the course at KIIT University will be conducted in six disciplines: basketball, health & fitness, kho-kho, kabaddi, swimming and volleyball. Candidates desirous of getting admission in the said Certificate Course are required to apply in required application form downloaded from website ( www.nsnis.org ).

Last date of receiving the application is 31st March 2017 in the office of the In-charge (Academics), Sports Authority of India, Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports, Old Moti Bagh, Patiala-147001.

The prescribed fee for the entire duration of the course is Rs 18,550, which includes lodging, boarding and other miscellaneous expenses. The fee shall be payable at the time of joining the course by the selected candidates.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
i) Educational Qualification: Minimum 10+2 pass
ii) Sports Achievements: a) 1st, 2nd & 3rd position holder in district championship of individual and team event.
OR
b) Participation in State championship/University championship of individual and team event. Preference will be given to the international players, physical education teachers, social workers and sponsored candidates from institutes/organizations (if fulfills above (i) and (ii) required eligibility criteria).
c) Candidates applying in swimming discipline, swimming test will be conducted for them at the venue of the course and candidate who passes the test will only admitted to the course.

AGE: 20-40 years as on 16th May 2017. Relaxation in upper age limit up to five years will be given to the candidates belongs to SC/ST & North-East region.
